2008 Heysen Prize for Interpretation of Place

 

  

 

  The Heysen Prize for Interpretation of Place is a non acquisitive contemporary art award exploring the depth and range of artists' connections to their natural and urban environments.

Entries to the Heysen Prize for Interpretation of Place are now closed.

Exhibition dates: September 27 - November 2

Category 1: Open
$7,000

Prize awarded to the work adjudged best of the exhibition. Entries are invited that reflect, as Heysen did, an immersion in place.

Category 2: Small Drawing
$2,000

Artists are invited to investigate the intersection of traditional drawing methods with contemporary explorations.

 

 

 


Exhibitions

Our three ground floor galleries have a changing programme of exhibitions showing the work of local artists and touring exhibitions, while local art group The Artist’s Voice mounts exhibitions upstairs.
